The YIS is proud to be the ‘one-and-only’ authorised International Baccalaureate World School (IB) in Yogyakarta. The YIS Curriculum is based on the Early Years and Primary Years Programme (IB-PYP), the Middle Years Programme (IB-MYP), and the Diploma Programme (IB-DP). During the past four years, all YIS students who have taken the IB Diploma Programme, have successfully passed their exams with scores above the global average. YIS report cards, academic transcripts, certificates, and diplomas are acknowledged by other IB schools in Indonesia and overseas, and by top-class universities worldwide.

The YIS Curriculum covers a broad range of learning subjects, including English, Indonesian, French, Spanish, Mathematics, Sciences, environmental studies, History, Geography, Music, Design, Arts, and physical education. Besides, the school offers a choice of extra-curricular activities to foster sportive, creative and technical skills. Education is delivered in English by a team of international and national IB-trained teachers. The YIS Leadership Team is supported by an active Parents Association.

Entry Requirements:

International and Indonesian students are welcome to join the YIS. Enrollment of new students may be done online through our website (www.yis-edu.org), or at the YIS office. Admission and placement depend on the available capacity of the school, student records of previous schools, and a standard admission test by the YIS.Students may be enrolled throughout the ongoing school year.

Age Groups:

Early years: 3 to 6 years old

PrimarySchool: 6 to 12 years old

Junior High School: 12 to 16 years old

Senior High School: 16 to 19 years old

The average number of pupils/class:

Class sizes vary per grade level, and are typically between 10 and 15 students.

Term 1: August-October

Term 2: October-December

Term 3: January-March

Term 4: March-June
