We are a global community of learners representing over 60 nationalities. JIS is the school of choice for families seeking joyful, rigorous learning opportunities for students to pursue their passion and purpose.
Our garden-like campuses and leading-edge facilities support independent inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving, as well as service-learning and environmental stewardship. Here, students strive toward personal excellence with academic and co-curricular programs inspired by best educational practices from around the world. From early years to high school, they are empowered with the choice and responsibility to take charge of their own education. Meanwhile, the JIS Learning Center provides children with moderate to intensive support needs with an individualised curriculum that includes modified academic instruction and daily living skills, social skills, and building independence. JIS students are well prepared for the next step in their learning journey, whatever that may be.
Since 1951, Jakarta Intercultural School (JIS) has upheld our commitment to providing exceptional education to students who learn in Indonesia to be Bestforthe World.
In the Early Years Program, placement is based on grade-level age requirements. From Grade 1 onward, placement for students joining at the beginning of the JIS school year is based on grade levels already completed at an accredited school.
